The Good Series: All American – The Liberator – The Undoing
Eccoci a una selezione che mi ha lasciato un po’ così.
Su un titolo riponevo poche speranze ma le prime puntate mi avevano illuso che ci fosse di più. Su un altro, gli “esperti” hanno sovrastimato il valore, con gli italiani accecati dalla tifoseria per una attrice nostrana. La perla è l’opera più coraggiosa, per il mezzo usato, per il raccontare qualcosa ormai narrato in mille modi e trovare comunque una propria voce originale.

Nicole Kidman e Hugh Grant sono i protagonisti di questa mini-serie HBO basata sul romanzo You Should Have Known (in Italia edito da PIEMME col titolo The Undoing – Le verità non dette) di Jean H. Korelitz. Insieme a Kidman e Grant anche Donald Sutherland, Edgar Ramirez e la nostra Matilda De Angelis. Diretta dal premio Oscar Susanne Bier e scritta da David E. Kelley, la serie è un dramma familiare, un thriller psicologico coinvolgente perché tratta un tema che può toccare ognuno di noi: le bugie che diciamo a noi stessi, ciò su cui scegliamo di chiudere un occhio, anche quando la verità ci sta proprio davanti.
