Tra fragili speranze e nuovi sogni, le vite di quattro personaggi si intrecciano nel frenetico mondo del parco divertimenti: Ginny (Kate Winslet), ex attrice malinconica ed emotivamente instabile che lavora come cameriera; Humpty (Jim Belushi), il rozzo marito di Ginny, manovratore di giostre; Mickey (Justin Timberlake), un bagnino di bell’aspetto che sogna di diventare scrittore; Carolina (Juno Temple), la figlia che Humpty non ha visto per molto tempo e che ora è costretta a nascondersi nell’appartamento del padre per sfuggire ad alcuni gangster. Diretto dal grande Woody Allen e impreziosito dalla cinematografia del Premio Oscar Vittorio Storaro “La Ruota delle Meraviglie” è un racconto fatto di passione e tradimenti che ha per sfondo la pittoresca Coney Island degli anni ’50.
