Manfred Bernardo è un medium: parla con i fantasmi, sa evocare i morti e si guadagna da vivere tenendo sedute spiritiche a pagamento. Qualcuno, però, vuole fargli del male. Su consiglio della defunta nonna Xylda, sensitiva gitana molto nota, cerca rifugio a Midnight, una cittadina del Texas dimenticata da Dio. Secondo Xylda, Midnight sarebbe stato un rifugio sicuro perché, come scopre Manfred poco dopo il suo arrivo, è popolata da creature soprannaturali. Streghe, vampiri e altri esseri con poteri straordinari, supportati da alcuni umani che li difendono, cercano di vivere nell’ombra, conducendo un’esistenza tranquilla. Midnight, Texas è tratta dall’omonima saga letteraria firmata da Charlaine Harris, la scrittrice di True Blood.
