Il film racconta le vicende di due vecchi amici Fred e Mick, entrambi vicini agli 80 anni, che si ritrovano in vacanza in un elegante albergo sulle Alpi. Uno è un regista che sta terminando di girare quello che immagina sarà il suo ultimo film importante, l’altro un direttore d’orchestra che si è ormai ritirato da tempo, anche se c’è qualcuno che vorrebbe a tutti i costi vederlo e ascoltarlo di nuovo dirigere una sua composizione.

| Plot: Fred and Mick, two old friends, are on vacation in an elegant hotel at the foot of the Alps. Fred, a composer and conductor, is now retired. Mick, a movie director, is still working.
