Grantchester è ambientata negli anni ’50 nella contea del Cambridgeshire, in un piccolo e idilliaco villaggio (il realmente esistente Grantchester) vicino a Cambridge. Protagonista è il vicario anglicano, Sidney Chambers, dotato di una passione per l’investigazione che lo porta a collaborare con l’ispettore di polizia Geordie Keating.
